LSNJ 4/20/26 LSNJLAW Hotline Intake Paralegal

Legal Services of New Jersey, an Edison-based non-profit law firm that provides free civil legal assistance to low-income New Jerseyans, has an opening for an Intake Paralegal to support our statewide legal hotline. Callers to Legal Services of New Jersey’s Hotline are low-income individuals and families who face eviction, foreclosure, threats of domestic violence, have been sued by creditors or face a variety of other civil legal problems. Callers can access our statewide legal hotline, which provides legal information, advice, and referral in civil legal cases. This service is provided at no charge but applicants must be financially eligible to qualify. All callers are screened for financial eligibility prior to receiving services.  

The position involves handling sensitive matters and requires professionalism, attention to detail, and explicit recognition of the scope of attorney-client confidentiality.  Customer service, call center and/or Paralegal experience a plus. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and computer skills. Four-year college degree or two-year degree plus two years of relevant experience as a paralegal or in customer service required. Bilingual in both English and Spanish required.

Comprehensive benefit package; 2026 salary scale for this position starts at $52,000, commensurate with skill, knowledge and experience; hybrid work option after 1 year.
