Legal Services of Northwest Jersey

Return back to: Return back to LSNJ.org

Due to limited funding, LSNWJ is not able to represent all the low-income people in Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, and Warren counties with all of their legal needs. As a result, LSNWJ must establish priorities. Each year, LSNWJ seeks input from the low-income community, service providers, the courts and the legal community in order to assist us in setting our priorities for the next year. The priorities effective December 11, 2015, stated in intended outcomes are:

  • Clients receiving legal advice services gain knowledge of his or her legal rights and responsibilities and learn what to do or not do to solve his or her legal problem
  • Clients receiving legal representation are empowered and act to obtain and preserve essential needs critical for self-sufficiency.
  • Clients obtain and preserve essential needs critical for self-sufficiency (shelter and housing, sustainable income, assets necessary for self-sufficiency, family relationships, personal safety, health care access, and autonomy).
