Income

LSNWJ's Basic Needs Program serves households whose income falls at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Level. The income guidelines for our basic needs program, effective February 7, 2011, are:

Add $129 for each additional household.

Some LSNWJ programs have different income eligibility. The income eligibility for victims of domestic abuse is 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Vulnerable seniors, age 60 or older, are eligible for services regardless of income. Please contact LSNWJ for specific guidelines for special projects.

Assets

LSNWJ does not include the principal residence of the applicant, one motor vehicle with equity up to $15,000 and a second motor vehicle with equity up to $10,000 if there are two or more licensed drivers in the household, personal and household goods, work-related equipment, disability-related equipment and assets that can not be accessed by the applicant. LSNWJ does not include the first $25,000 of retirement benefits, such as 401K for each adult household member.

Maximum Countable Assets

Liquid Assets: Up to $6,000 for an individual, plus $1,200 for each additional household member.
Non-liquid Assets: $12,000.
